It's been too hot here again, so not much got done in the veg. patch the last two days. Last night's rain (.5 inches / ~13mm) helped to freshen things up a bit after all the dry weather. Looks like maybe a little more rain for tonight, too. Just please omit the wind. Wind is not a gardener's friend. Here's a few views this evening as the sun sets.

Trying the "mini" varieties of cabbage this year. Since it's only the two of us, it seemed less wasteful this way. Our passion for cabbage means lots of coleslaw and one of these mini heads gives us a week's shredded cabbage and good eats and no leftover chunks of a large head lingering in the fridge. Each head is only 5 or 6 inches in diameter (12-15 cm). One variety is round, the other, conical. Both good.
