If there is anyone here on the #fediverse capable of understanding how much memory was being leaked by a steam game when it triggered OOM killer?
I mentioned that i had my radeon rx580 die a long while back. Well my rx 570 has started failing. Thanks to some amazing patreons i was able to procure something from ebay to replace the rx570. It has arrived and i didnt get El Nasir'd!
Thank you once agian to those who have helped me afford procuring this hardware. Expect some guides comming in the future.
Still looking for a modern nvidia and amd card to continue doing linux support and tutorials. Any help is appreciated.
Well just as i finish dealing with a client's hardware failure i run into yet another bit of hardware failing on my own computers.
A little sneak peak at tomorrows video. This Image is of Whisper generating subtitles for the Gnome Disk Utility usb flashing video that will be out tomorrow. I had to edit it as it mistook "it'll" with "we'll".
So in order to just get this project done i made a run to the ONLY store that sells computer electronics in the area. BestBuy. Bought their only in stock Ironwolf Pro drive just to get this project done.
Formatted it with Gparted and all was looking well.. except the partition was refusing to mount. What was the solution? Turning it on and off a few times :|
Hopefully the Rsync will complete without failure before the source drive with the data keels over from a click of death.
... The Replacement arrived bashed to hell and rattling inside as if the platters shattered. There was no protection in the box at all during shipping. Also looks like someone took the moto on the side of the box to heart. Replacements are now delayed for a month and a half.
So i thought i would use one of my only hotspares. That server is currently down due to blood sacrifices gone badly. The hostpare drive failed an extended Smart Test and there are no longs as to why.......
Well fudge. I exported a video from twitch 2 weeks ago and youtube was processing it the entire time. only a 3 hour long video so it should not have failed. Alas it did and i dont have the video on twitch anymore.
