An interview with me for today's You Magazine (Mail On Sunday), about the experience of losing my father during the pandemic, and how the emotional trauma made me revaluate everything I thought I knew about emotions.

Seeking a #postdoc for next year (flexible start) to work with our super cool transition to parenthood data + our new 7-year follow-up wave. Would love to find someone with #neuroimaging skills, but am open to other interests too. We have #brain, #behavioral, #hormonal data from new #parents, recruited in the #prenatal period; we are now looking at child #neurodevelopment at age 7. Please use our 'Naturalistic Neuroimaging Database' (NNDb v2). It consists of N=86 people who did a battery of behavioural tests and watched one of 10 full-length #movies during #fMRI. It has 46,249,600,000 voxels or 6.69 days worth of data to play with. 🥳

For those with a “swashbuckling attitude, crafty humor, and general aura of badassery” which the position lists as requirements, in addition to being “highly motivated and somewhat bloodthirsty.” https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/03/us/nyc-rat-czar-job-application-trnd/index.html
Nice #swag with this recent PFA order. It will help to pickle my own tissues after fixing the lab’s experimental ones 🍷
New preprint! We examined the acquisition of intravenous cocaine self-administration in a sample of almost 1000 mice from more than 80 genetic backgrounds. We integrated information on genetic variation, the striatal and frontal cortical transcriptome and RNA splicing to identify novel genetic regulators of voluntary cocaine taking. https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2022.11.10.516062v2
