That's all folks! Feierabend forever 💛
Last shift on the rails in Dresden for me. Loved the job the last 2.5 years. Lovely weather and tram to enjoy today 😎 😁

I do all productive work at a desktop PC these days. I need keyboard, mouse and two big monitors. So I haven't bought a new laptop in ages. This one is 8 years old. I dug it out for serious tasks again now as I need something to hold my uni presentation with and while carrying a macMini around is viable its not ideal so let's try if I can make this old laptop worthy again.

Windows 10 was unusably slow from being full of accumulated junk from the past years so let's give Linux Mint a try again. Just booted from USB it feels really snappy.

Is there a capable format/software solution that allows the definition of light control effects synced with a music track that isn't a commercial proprietary thing exclusively used for professional stage lighting?

F-777 albums are on again today and for powerful EDM I'd LOVE to have a way to create lighting tracks that play perfectly in sync with mp3 or wav playback, allow for the definition of groups of light sources (based on physical arrangement), definitions of patterns that can easily be repeated on a per-bar basis, definition of light gradients that RNG can choose random values within, manual live control through keyboard keys (assign each key a light scene, then play the keyboard like a drum machine along to the music).

It would be lovely for "light" objects to be an open end, so something that you just pass RGB/White temp/brightness values and potentially a transition duration to and that allow for custom implementations to be written, such as JSON calls to Hue bridge on local network, serial port calls to DCC-Ex command station...

I've made an attempt at something like this in the past dubbed the Electric Loc Orchestra. This worked by hand coding every bar in the song using sequential commands only. I'd love to scale this up.

a bit of cleanup later...

Today in "I paid for all the RAM I'm gonna use all the RAM" I am once again trying to work with OpenStreetMap SVGs of large-ish areas.

It still baffles me how - despite the facts that we as a modern society both frequently print and work with maps at a high resolution and have all the underlying data in entirely computer generated vector form - this continues to be such a major hassle.

Oh, Dresden hat wieder was eingemeindet? Wann kommt der Straßenbahnanschluss?

Hey ich brauche für meine Präsentation noch Beispielscreenshots aus der Verbindungsauskunft
