A silly person doing silly things.
I'm trying to become less precious about putting out my silly ideas, so they'll stop living in my head—that's one of the reasons I'm even here.
I still have a ways to go, as is apparent from the fact that I drew this back in February.
Friday marks the 50th anniversary of the 1975 film JAWS, a cinematic masterpiece that ushered in the era of the summer blockbuster and also earned John Williams an Academy Award for best original score. It was one of my earliest soundtrack loves, years before I ever saw the movie, which I also love.
Notwithstanding its disastrous demonization of sharks, JAWS is one of the greatest films in history. And as you may have guessed, I HAVE A BIG ISSUE WITH IT.

The closest I'll get to self-promotion here is to tell you that, while I'm really proud of the covers I've designed for Matteson Wynn's Housekeeper series, the books themselves are wonderful, and everyone should be reading them. I designed this cover for an economics book almost ten years ago. Sadly, the author fell ill before it could be finished. I put way too much detail in the vault door, in a 2.x version of Blender (2.81? Anisotropy was still pretty new).

I did this very quickly this morning. These lamps are perennials, and the big one, which I started from a cutting, is in its third year now. The little ones are actually new volunteers. I know I should probably mulch the bed, but everyone seems to be doing okay for now.
