@MichaelCrider Somebody actually followed that link to my Mastodon account and made a brand new one, just to yell at me for putting it where the old site's logo is on my PCWorld profile.

They were mad that they couldn't easily pester a stranger for writing something they didn't like.

It was oddly gratifying.

Psst. Web writers. C'mere.

If your site uses WordPress as a backend, there are probably a bunch of fields on your profile page with dedicated social links.

You can just put in your BlueSky or Mastodon link instead of, say, some oligarch dragon's personal hate treehouse. It'll go here instead.

Testing, testing. this should be showing up on Mastodon and BlueSky.

There are rumors floating around of both Chrome getting an Android-powered reboot, and Google trying yet another laptop design. The second point is what interests me, because they've tried to build a mass market laptop four, count 'em, FOUR times, and each one has failed.

What would a successful Google-branded laptop look like, and can Google build it? https://www.pcworld.com/article/2525709/what-could-google-do-to-finally-make-a-winning-laptop.html

What could Google do to finally make a winning laptop?

Rumors are swirling about another attempt by Google at a first-party Chromebook. History has not been kind to Google's Chromebooks.

Why are we still here? Just to suffer?

@AAKL Appeasement doesn't work, and enriching the oligarchs only makes society collapse faster.

That said, there might be some value in accelerating the inevitable at this point. How fast can we burn, how fast can they fiddle?

Something I got paid to do this morning.

The country's going to shit and a lot of people will suffer very soon, but for the time being I'm glad I can at least get a little joy out of my job.

@JenLucPiquant I need to do a rewatch. Couldn't hurt, given all...this.

@charliejane "The Force is with you! That's why you're so good at flipping moss-mucus burgers, it's all in the wrist. Just like a lightsaber!"

"Uh huh. And what part of stopping your crazy apprentice and their army of cultists will pay my rent?"

"You must bring balance to the-"

"To the cash register. Buy a moss-mucus burger or go haunt the death stick addict in booth seven."
