An aging man who has done, and will continue to do, nothing of note

I understand not being an absolutist against all things AI. It's wrong, but I understand. What I don't understand is people who think that those of us avoiding shit with AI or created by AI are irrational or some other offensive term. I don't see how it's different than avoiding code written by a literal honey badger. Neither the honey badger nor the AI know how to code and having them do so shows a lack of fucks given for the quality of the output. That's ( part of ) why we avoid it.
Five years ago today, after listening to some negative discussion on @atpfm, someone on Twitter angrily predicted that β€œin 5 years, Tesla will have a marketcap at least 5 times larger than Apple.” I made a calendar event for this prediction, because I am petty. But now the account that posted it has deleted all its tweets, ruining the fun.

it's true that it doesn't particulary increase the distribution of your post but the idea that we're all here to get things distributed as far as possible is pretty weird

You know what, crack that sucker open. Hard to imagine it could make anything worse at this point.

On the plus side, at least future generations won't have the cognitive skills to judge us harshly.

The whole "AI" industry is just based on the hope that they can deskill people fast enough that they'll have to rent back cognitive support systems. Forever.

It's like Uber. Just that they don't try to break existing transportation infrastructures but your brain.
