I'm learning the basics of motorcycle maintenance, the Haynes general everything manual describes the 4-stroke combustion cycle as "suck, squeeze, bang, blow..." and well, now my juvenile mind is engaging on the worst possible level. Now I want to run a motorbike blog with that title. #motorbike #motos #motorcycles #motorcycle #motorbikes

Waiting for a train at Herne Hill station. Its one of my favourite mainline stations in London. It’s in Zone 2, so close to town, but if you lookSouth along the line - away from the city, you see the transmitter tower at Crystal Palace. Its also more or less below the approach path from the East for planes landing at Heathrow, so at night often the sky is busy with navigation lights. Anyway I took some pictures which don’t do it justice.

Edit to add - Apparently Mark Rylance lives round here.

London, Central London at least, has become a theme park version of itself. However, going a bit out of town you still find London that looks like the backdrop to a Muriel Spark novel. I went for a coffee in an art gallery in Camberwell this morning. Can thoroughly recommend.

Its called the South London Gallery. The art is, well, its art, innit. Form your own opinions on that. The cafe is nice. https://www.southlondongallery.org/

More photos for anyone who is interested. The dedicated motorcycle parking bays at the Mèditeranèe car park, Gare de Lyon, Paris.

Visiting Paris this week, I had heard about an underground motorcycle parking area in the centre, managed to check it out for myself today. In the Mèditeranèe parking centre beneath the Gare de Lyon - an extensive, affordable and secure area for motorbikes. €44 in the heart of Paris for a week’s parking, with free secure helmet storage racks. #Motorbikes #Moto #motorcycle
Admittedly shallow but come on.
It was actually quicker than I thought. Its packed with visitors, which is nice. I get quite vicariously excited seeing London from the perspective of tourists. It reminds you of the first time you saw it too.
I stupidly thought it would be a good idea to get to get the bus from South London to Liverpool Street. Thinking it would be nice to see Tower Bridge as we cross it. Ho ho ho. Tower bridge, on the bridge it’s one lane of traffic in each direction. All of the approach roads 2 lanes each way. We won’t be crossing it anytime this century.
A couple of years ago, when I had some spare cash, I bought an eink typewriter. I have, over the years, had a collection of typewriters, I am a big fan of single purpose devices. Anyway. Here's a very lifestyle photo. It was over priced, but I love it, it can only write. Editing is limited. But your writing is automatically saved to a cloud service run by the manufacturer, and to dropbox.
I made a vegetarian low carb quiche-y type thing with veggie bacon, cheese and chives. I did it without a pastry case for low starch reasons, I was pleased with how it turned out. #Food #Cooking
