@stroughtonsmith yup. Especially the iPad Pro is not worth it anymore - unless you're an artist. When you have a MacBook Air that can do everything and more. The iPad feels superior in hardware but totally inferior in software. Such underutilised potential.

@stroughtonsmith Apple AI is useless across the board. So many times it is so safe that you can't do anything with it. Other LLMs are overtaking Apple everywhere.
Not sure if you have seen Claude's Excel extension? It's very good. I tried their PowerPoint extension too and is getting there as well. This is what iWork should have had.
And now it doesn't. There's no point for me to use iWork anymore at this rate.
@stroughtonsmith They are doing this to block the Spotify's of this world. It's those type of apps that benefit from alternative app stores the most.
Uber won't mind because they don't have to pay the Apple Tax in the first place. So they have less reason to leave the app store in the first place.
As long as apple keeps discriminating between digital and physical goods the problem remains.
The CTF is abuse of power as it's based on an arbitrary distinction made by apple.

@stroughtonsmith @pasavito @macrumors For those who think apple is in its right - let's also increase all Uber fares by 27% and all Amazon shopping by 27% when done through the apps. They use the platform just the same way as Spotify does. Uber benefited just as much from the rise of mobile phones.
Somehow only digital good are subjected to the Apple tax.
Also if we didn't have Spotify, we'd still be buying iTunes tracks.
