I am a mother from Gaza 🇵🇸 to three displaced children.
We endured two harsh years living in tents after losing everything.
My children suffer from respiratory conditions and require ongoing treatment.
A month ago, we moved into a rented apartment in search of safety, but we are struggling to afford rent, medicine, and food.

My children’s joy this Eid is beyond words…
It is the first Eid we spend in a home that shelters us and gives us a sense of safety.

🌙 Day 2 of Ramadan…
Ramadan still finds a way to our hearts, waking joy despite everything.
My children watch the hanging lights and ask:
“Did we decorate our home in Beit Hanoun? Was Ramadan this beautiful?”
I tell them: yes… it was even more beautiful.
Gaza once shone with light and joy.
Today we celebrate with what we have —
and carry a deep longing in our hearts. 🤍

🌙 Ramadan arrives this year with a quiet we haven’t known in so long…
Yet we are still far from our homes, far from the tables that once gathered us together.
All we wish for this month is a stove that burns gently—
to refill a gas cylinder,
so we can cook our iftar with dignity,
without exhausting firewood or smoke stinging tired eyes.
A filled gas cylinder may seem small,
but to us, it means comfort, ease, and a little peace.
