“Every time we are faced with a choice, and we are faced with them every minute of every day, we make a decision and follow its course into the future. But what of the abandoned options? Are they like unopened doors? Do alternative futures lie beyond them? How far would we wander from the course we have steered were we to go back and, just once, open Door A instead of Door B?”

Publication set for 5th December. Two months to go!

1923: Hitler’s failed coup.

No real consequences.
No fundamental changes.

1933: Hitler takes power.

I wish I could implant this into everyone’s brain.

Due December. This is the first of our collaborations, and the only Sexton Blake. The next is a thriller, completed and currently with our agents. After that an anthology of short stories (almost completed), then another thriller, which we are currently writing.

From the 1970s bookshelf. THE SEEDBEARERS by Peter Valentine Timlett. The first novel of a trilogy. I vaguely recall reading the first two volumes but becoming distracted by other books before I got to the third. The cover artist isn’t credited but it’s unmistakably Patrick Woodroffe.

Today's blast from the past. I have five of these 1970s Star Books Dion Fortune paperbacks and don't know whether I've read any of them. Cover uncredited but I'm pretty sure it's Don Pendleton.

From the vintage paperbacks shelf: DEVIL COUNTRY by Ian Cameron (pseudonym of Donald Gordon Payne). This novel has also been published as THE MOUNTAINS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE WORLD. It’s been years since I read it, but I recall that it was fun. A “lost world” story featuring neanderthals. Cover artist uncredited.

Today’s random pick from the 70s bookshelf is the excellent DREAMSNAKE by Vonda N. McIntyre. Cover by George Underwood.
