From the 1970s bookshelf. THE SEEDBEARERS by Peter Valentine Timlett. The first novel of a trilogy. I vaguely recall reading the first two volumes but becoming distracted by other books before I got to the third. The cover artist isn’t credited but it’s unmistakably Patrick Woodroffe.

Today's blast from the past. I have five of these 1970s Star Books Dion Fortune paperbacks and don't know whether I've read any of them. Cover uncredited but I'm pretty sure it's Don Pendleton.

From the vintage paperbacks shelf: DEVIL COUNTRY by Ian Cameron (pseudonym of Donald Gordon Payne). This novel has also been published as THE MOUNTAINS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE WORLD. It’s been years since I read it, but I recall that it was fun. A “lost world” story featuring neanderthals. Cover artist uncredited.

Today’s random pick from the 70s bookshelf is the excellent DREAMSNAKE by Vonda N. McIntyre. Cover by George Underwood.

Today’s random pick from my 1970s bookshelves is WHIPPING STAR by Frank Herbert. The cover artist is uncredited but, as so often with NEL SF paperbacks of the period, it is the wonderful Bruce Pennington.

Random from the 70s shelves. There was a whole series of Corgi SF novels with this style of cover. I have many of them. The artist is not credited.

Today's random pick from the 1970s bookshelves. Edmund Cooper is much underrated IMO. Cover artist uncredited.
