Riven with disease, doubt and disaster. Typical bloke in his fifties really.

In Bronze Age Britain, artists made a 100 metre long picture of a horse using trenches filled with chalk. For 3000 years people have regularly repaired the artwork, removing stray plants and topping up chalk. There’s something very beautiful about a chain of people with such wildly different experiences of the world preserving beauty and creativity across millenniums

First swim at the lake in 2026. Glorious sunny Sunday morning and an exemplar of #joyinsmallthings at these difficult times.

Another gorgeous morning of #parkrun marshalling, a swim in the lake, sauna and then a leisurely sausage cob in the sunshine.

(I fell over on the way back from marshalling. This is why I don’t run much anymore!)

What a glorious morning at #volksgartenparkrun in Düsseldorf! 105 finishers and 24 amazing volunteers kicked off the weekend in the best way—with smiles, sunshine, and a whole lot of #parkrun spirit!

Beautiful morning for running by the sea.
Good luck if you are running Hastings Half marathon tomorrow - conditions look great.
If you see the 13 mile sign you know you are going to finish.
Enjoy your running.

Redcar parkrun for us this morning, and I was definitely not in the mood to go for anything drastic.

Decided to see if, after all the Jeffing recently, I can actually still run the whole thing without stopping! And I'm happy to say that I can, and got myself a new course PB in the process despite taking it fairly easy.

It always feels like really good vibes there, lots of friendly banter among the middle aged lady pace group, sometimes you get to see a train go past but sadly not today. There's always next time!

Another weekend, another #parkrun - Rising Sun this week, just outside Newcastle.

Really liked this one, extremely friendly and mostly flat over country and woodland trails. Would definitely do this one again if the opportunity came up :)

A very cold start to #FinsburyPark #parkrun this morning but as the sun broke through it warmed into a lovely run (I’m glossing over the short sharp hill).

A trip made all the better for seeing the marvellous @GavinFreeguard colliding out of my work world and into my running one.

An odd #parkrun day. Went to celebrate an event's 500th and was one of only three people that were at the inaugural run in 2014.

Added poignancy - I checked my time from 2014; cancerous, immune suppressed, fucked ankle 2026 edition me is faster 🤷
