In the age of Trump and Putin, Irish neutrality is a comfortable but dangerous illusion
Ireland’s neutrality, once understandable, has become a harmful relic in the current security climate. It is necessary to move beyond this stance, pursue military cooperation with neighbors, and recognize Europe’s evolving defense needs.
I wonder how you could make a capitalist system truly fair. Where those who bring the best ideas and create the most value rise to the top over their lifetime.
Maybe aiming for equality of upbringing in all years pre-18/21. 100% estate taxes, we all start from €0. With socialised amenities as well as housing & education.
Although, I think, when you factor in overcoming social issues like race & gender it would become a never-ending challenge.
My view is that capitalism is flawed. I would love to see us begin socialising areas of our economy slowly over time.
