Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all
Enjoy the love and joy of the season.
Have a wonderful Giving Thanks Day to all.
Stay safe, hydrated, and amazing.
Told myself I wasn't going to buy any new books about cocktails, food, hosting, or etiquette.
I'll file this one under 'LIES I Told Myself' - Technically, these are 'not' new books so...
IN THE PURSUIT OF THE PERFECT NEGRONI set up by @no3gin.matthew at @valerienewyorkcity. A perfect
#Gincident. Amazingly, it was a night fueled with a quadfecta of Gin based cocktails. The Classic Negroni & Window Seat by VALERIE’s chancellor of cocktails @marshallvincent. The Orange Moon by Dear Irving’s cocktail Queen @gingerrickey. The Serenade by @atsushi_nyc a cocktail creating viceroy in his own right. And of this simmered in the chill funderground beats by @callschwabby.
Adventures in Imbibing: The Martini Expo.
Seminars, glasses, & reunions. Oh My!
I had the privilege of attending the Martini Expo hosted by renowned Cocktail and Spirits Author Robert Simonson at The Landing located at Industry City, Brooklyn.
A one-day Gin (Vodka and Sake) fueled blitzkrieg focused on the classic of classic cocktails, The Martini.
#MartiniExpo #CocktailCulture #MartiniTime#ClassicCocktails #NYCEvents #BarCulture #MartiniLoversAlways interesting to see a bar change ownership/direction. Last time I was here (maybe a yr ago) it was a Tequila focused bar called Gran Electria.
Now it's a Swedish restaurant called Hildur.
Thankfully both had/have IPAs.
Grimm Wavetable works for a chill Sunday afternoon vibe.
Better music too.
Back with my Manners Toon Project.
This week we check out the words of wisdom for gentlemen from The Gentleman's Guide to Life by Steve Friedman.
Starting out with Living Large.
Enjoy.
Morning All.
For this Friday's JuneManners post -
An AI generated cartoon strip.
Before you attack - I have ZERO skill at free hand drawing. So I'm using AI to do the heavy lifting.
Every Friday I'll post a different strip using the manners from the book of the week.
Cheers & Happy Friday!
Did some walking around Manhattan during the day to enjoy the weather.
Took the train home to downtown Brooklyn and this frickin thing greets me.
The Eye (Sore) of Sauron aka The Brooklyn Tower. Giving a middle finger to Downtown Brooklyn since 2023.
