@Herbivore This is hyperbole; liver _is_ healthy, when eaten in _moderation_, just like most anything else. Chocolate (especially dark) contains trace quantities of Lead and Mercury, but I only know of one instance of someone dying of Chocolate consumption, and that was due to constipation leading to excessive straining in an elderly person.
TL;DR: liver is only toxic if you eat a disgusting amount, and I've seen people down like 15 chicken livers in one sitting and be absolutely fine.

@BrodieOnLinux Rust in Git makes a lot of sense to me; Rust in the Linux Kernel does not. In my opinion, Rust belongs in every userspace program, and no kernelspace code.

Now that quote posts are a thing on Mastodon, we need an insufferably cutesy nickname for them that everyone hates but still gets used anyway.

To that end I nominate “Quoots”, a portmanteau of ‘quote’ and ‘toot’. I believe it’s the worst possible option, solidly cementing Mastodon in particular and the Fediverse in general as having the worst slang on the internet.

Please quoot to spread the word.

Breaking, new, by me:

Self-replicating "Shai-Hulud" worm hits 180+ Software Packages

At least 187 code packages made available through the JavaScript repository NPM have been infected with a self-replicating worm that steals credentials from developers and publishes those secrets on GitHub, experts warn. The malware, which briefly infected multiple code packages from the security vendor CrowdStrike, steals and publishes even more credentials every time an infected package is installed.

@chewie Fair enough.
