Both my apples survived the frost we had a few weeks ago and are blooming beautifully! Hoping for a good harvest this year…we had six apples last year 😂
Last week I taught 20 or so people how to make small willow bird feeders. Sunday I popped down to work and joined the menopause group who were learning to make willow bird feeders, and picking wild garlic, mixing it with cream cheese and having it on sourdough. I’ve now got several small willow bird feeders, so I thought I’d try something new with them…what do you think? #gardening#willow#weaving#sempervivum#garden#craft
I did similar a couple of years ago when during lockdown I dug out all the garden beds one by one. I had a huge pile of bulbs and leaves to get rid of. The picture is what I dug out from one flowerbed! I suppose it’s time to do another check to make sure I got them all!
Started the garden post-winter tidy up this weekend. A couple of gentle hours each day just clearing some of the old and dead stems and leaves from things, seeing what survived the winter (not my black aquilegia or several lewisia - all turned to mush) and pulling the massive dandelions before they seed everywhere. Did sort the sempervivums and planted up some of the babies. #garden#gardening#plant#sempervivum#leeds
New skill acquired, cathedral window quilting. Fun and frustrating at the same time. Fairly easy method taught as well, as long as you are accurate with the points at every stage. Only a few seams ripped along the way 😂 #quilting#patchwork#fabric#art
