AIIDE is going to have three workshops this year! Workshops provide an opportunity to explore more focused topics and niches, and engage in roundtables and collaborative design sessions with other researchers and designers. This year, we are hosting Experimental AI in Games, The Workshop on Automated Game Design, and Designing Neuroinclusive Human-AI Interactive Learning Environments. We are looking for master students for the project “Dynamic Models for Real Time Autonomous Decision Making in the Real World”, at VinUniversity. **100% scholarship**. The applications are open, and the next intake starts in September.

The project involves the development of novel decision-making techniques under uncertainty, and is related to on-line planning, reinforcement learning, and robotics.

This year’s AIIDE is hosted by the Federal University of Minas Gerais, in Brazil! Nestled in the Pampulha district’s cultural corridor, the campus’ location makes getting to nearby cultural landmarks a breeze.

The Conjunto Moderno da Pampulha, a UNESCO World Heritage site, includes places like the Kubitschek House Museum, and the famous Saint Francis of Asisi Church.

Authors, send your work in now! Paper and workshop submissions are now open. #artificialintelligence #games #ai #conference

The AIIDE 2026 Call for Workshops is open! Hosting a workshop lets you explore a topic in-depth with experts in AI in digital entertainment. Workshops can take many forms: papers, game jams, mixers, and more!

Proposals due May 15th, 2026. Read more at: https://sites.google.com/view/aiide2026/calls/call-for-workshops #artificialintelligence #ai #games #conference

AIIDE 2026 - Call for Workshops

AIIDE 2026 invites proposals for half-day, one-day, or two-day workshops. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to meet and discuss issues with a selected focus, providing an informal setting for exchanging ideas. Each workshop’s format will be determined by its organizers. We expect to

I am looking for a Research Assistant (with permission to work in Vietnam) for the project "Dynamic Models for Real Time Autonomous Decision Making in the Real World". I am looking for candidates with a Computer Science bachelor degree, or related fields.

There is funding for master students for the same project. Hence, this position can work as an early start for the masters.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

In our recent work, at Mathematics, we present a combination of an experimental and mathematical study for estimating the task completion time of a swarm of robots. It is a fundamental step regarding how to perform approximations of the global behaviour of a swarm of robots, when the individual robots are controlled by local interaction rules.

Our paper is available at https://www.mdpi.com/2227-7390/13/21/3552, and our source code is at https://github.com/yuri-tavares/swarm-ad-hoc-follower.

Thanks for the collaboration, Yuri :) #ai #swarm

Our work, "A Synthetic Data-Driven Conformity Scoring Framework for Robust Federated Learning" will soon be presented at WACV 2026. It introduces a novel technique for robust federated learning, using synthetic data to defend against adversaries in a privacy-preserving way. Results show improved performance against gradient manipulation and backdoors. Our paper is available (https://openaccess.thecvf.com/content/WACV2026/papers/Alharbi_SD-CSFL_A_Synthetic_Data-Driven_Conformity_Scoring_Framework_for_Robust_Federated_WACV_2026_paper.pdf), including our code. Thanks E. Alharbi, A. Kerim, and Q. Ni! :) #ai #federatedlearning #wacv

I have just published a news media article about an open-air Go Tournament I joined in Vietnam. It was quite an interesting experience! :)

The article is available at https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/staff/sorianom/vietnam-tournament.pdf, and was published in the European Go Journal, November & December 2025 edition. #go #hanoi #vietnam
