First painting of the year! It got a late start (was having too much fun catching up with friends) and the weirdly warm weather kept tricking me into thinking it was summer; which of course threw off my drying time for watercolor layers. I kept telling myself that I was going to stop (like five times), that I was going to finish it in the studio, that I was going to toss it into the nearest trash bin….but I didn’t. I stuck it out, and am not entirely unpleased with the result.

Today’s charcoal sketch over at Osborn Farm. It was a gorgeous fall morning with the Fort Collins PAAC gang. I decided to draw instead of watercolor as the ambient temp was a little on the cooler side, which makes it very sloooow to do more than one layer. All in all, an enjoyable session.
