Married with grown children. Live in rural south eastern England. We're enthusiastic members of the National Trust as there are so many places we can visit locally. I enjoy gardening, nature, photography, food - cooking and eating. My photographs are those of an enthusiastic amateur, just enjoy the moment. I'm not great at playing sport but love Liverpool FC and the England cricket team.

@3goodthings 3 good things for today
♦ Goldfinch visiting the feeders
♦ Boulangere potatoes with lunch
♦ Liverpool football club are playing later

Not taken today but the light, what there is of it, is similar right now - bleak. Nothing quite cheers up the garden like a lovely robin though #birds #nature
One of my favourite garden birds, we're so lucky to have them breeding here and visiting the feeding station several times a day. The trunk of this palm is really popular with both the woodpeckers and nuthatch to stash suet in holes for later. Of course, it's often stolen and as it's directly opposite the kitchen window, makes for great viewing #birds #nature #photography
I do like a pied wagtail. Spotted this afternoon through our kitchen window. It didn't stay long, they never do #nature #birds #birdphotography

♦ a catch up phone call with a friend
♦ porridge with stewed apple, sliced banana and granola on a bleak and wintery morning
♦ watching birds and wildlife without leaving the house @3goodthings
We get various types of UK deer in our garden and watch them through the windows so as not to disturb them. Here are two #fallow #deer at the end of the garden, with one rabbit https://bds.org.uk/information-advice/about-deer/deer-species/fallow-deer/ #nature #wildlife

Today @3goodthings

I got out the slow cooker after a long time not using it and made a coq au vin for supper, it smells great

We had a wild deer come browsing in the garden and watched him for quite a while

I finished a sewing project and am really pleased with how it's turned out. Will post photos tomorrow. I took some with my phone just now but it's too dark and they don't look so good

As we slide towards winter, here's a selection of bright autumn #flowers seen on a recent #NationalTrust visit #gardening
Just gone 11am and I'm already thinking about later. When it's wet and unpleasant outside I can't wait until it's time to drop the blinds, draw the curtains, light candles and the fire and snuggle with a throw on the sofa
They go missing from the garden during the summer months but boy they're back now in numbers. Taken through the kitchen window, these are archive photos of Long Tailed Tits at the feeders. Such a gorgeous little bird #nature #ornithology #birdwatching #birdphotography
