I'm too impatient even when I ask for advice 😂 I split both braids into two sections horizontally. The color repeats are ABACABA. I then split each of those sections again where the C (gold) color is, so I have ABAC and CABA (which are just reversed). I stripped each section in two vertically and rolled them all in balls going in the same color direction - 16 nests in all. I think I will spin 4 on each bobbin, 2 going ABAC on repeat, and one going CABA on repeat. 1/

My next spinning project. I have 10 oz of fiber in total. I'm not sure how I want to spin it and what I want to use it for. Too much for socks, not enough for a sweater. I could weave with it possibly. Open to ideas for preparing/spinning the fiber and what to use it for. Fabric order arrived! I love the shop makeropolis.com, for secondhand fabric at a reasonable price. The yellow/green print will be a Bavarian Dirndl, and the white will be the blouse. I have decided I do not have enough time to make it for the festival I had in mind, but I really want one in my wardrobe! And the pink and blue bundle has been on my mind for over a year and is even prettier in person. #sewing #secondhandfabric

Needing a palate cleanser after today. So I am thinking about making clothes. I finished a beautiful skirt recently, and I'm almost done with a pinafore. I have a list of things I want to make for my family to avoid buying new stuff/contributing to capitalism. I sewed underwear for my child out of scrap fabric. I am planning to sew a Bavarian Dirndl for international festival in two weeks 😬 And planning more skirts, tops, and dresses for me!

My mom's blanket is DONE!! I really enjoyed designing this project and most of the knitting. But the garter just got pretty boring and I was racing to finish it so I could work on something new. I ended up buying two more skeins of yarn so that it has five stripes. #knitting #knittersofmastodon

I'm LOVING how my Mom's blanket is turning out! It's all garter stitch, alternating colors every other ridge. I had to buy two more skeins of yarn to make a fifth section since it was going to be pretty short otherwise. I have a dark brown I may use to do an i-cord edging. #knitting

My mom requested a blanket. I decided on the Sand Drift Blanket from Purl Soho. Just got the yarn from my LYS. Urth Yarns Harvest fingering. Two of the skeins are the same color, but different dye lots! I searched for a vest for my husband and tried to start the Drops 219-3 Boston Vest. For the life of me I could not comprehend the shaping for the armhole and v neck just at the beginning of the pattern. Cut my losses before I knit more than two inches and decided to use Ann Budd's book of patterns instead. Yarn is Tahki Tucson in black. #knitting #fibergoals2025

I picked up a dehydrator on my Buy Nothing group. I used to have one, but I had gotten rid of it after not using it for years. I'm dehydrating mushrooms today from a large Costco pack that we had gotten for one recipe. Rather than letting them go to waste, they'll now last months in the pantry.
