You know how we were all happy that California Forever simmered down and went quiet for a while? Even they said they were only changing their approach (oh, and the name, again), not slowing down. Well, after just a few weeks' notice (that I didn't hear of till just now, ugh), here comes their next swing:

@violetmadder perhaps you can remind that brother that if he thought it was a "declaration of war", he might think about developing war strategies, war tactics, and organizing with others, locally for war.
"Building community is about building relationships." one speaker points out, before commenting on the tactics being used.
"$49 BILLION in associated infrastructure costs, with no source for who that money is actually coming from. I can only hope we are partnering with someone who has our interests at heart."
Next guy saying things like:
"This is a declaration of war."
"These people think they can take us for saps."
"You can't sprawl your way out of a deficit."
@violetmadder don't be neutral. All that does is support the status quo. That's why they want you to do it. The absence of emotion supports them exploiting and ignoring the suffering of the majority of us.
One public comment just now was a lady singing a little folk song she wrote with lines like "Oh, I wish I could buy me a city council man... I wish I could buy me my very own town"
One of the next people remarks wearily that he sent them a letter a while back-- "22 pages"
Whole room applauds again when each is done, person in charge keeps reminding everyone, "No reaction. No reaction, please. I just want to remind you that everyone in this room should stay neutral."
No reaction... Yes, suck all the emotion and soul out of the room and this issue...

If you want to help the hungry, get the venture capitalist out of their land and communities, protect their democratic processes from Western invasions, allow them to have THEIR OWN religions, economies, and cultures, help them to establish food growing collabs, build durable, sustainable homes, and get your pink skinned ass out of Africa.
