I've been offline for a long while. #PyConUS has been a wonderful time. A ton of friends and I'm feeling the *want* to be back online. I've missed everyone.

PyCon US also gave my partner a new favorite picture of me. Turns out talking about Python, and hard pivoting to Birding, then realizing that there's Python in hobbies, like birding, generates some funny images.

I'm here for the last days of sprints and am so thankful for this community.

#urllib3 is now available on flopPyPI, thanks @psobot! 💾

I landed a CPython pull request during the #PyConUS sprints! Thanks to Jelle (sorry, dunno if they are on mastodon!) for helping me to the finish line. https://github.com/python/cpython/pull/140345

🤯🤯🤯

I hope anon sees this—It’s a strange feeling to feel so grateful and have no one to express it to.

So, whoever you are: Thank you.

We're blown away- the PSF received an anonymous $100k donation 🤯🥰 Thank you, anon, for your investment in #Python, its community, and the PSF. We are deeply grateful and committed to using every dollar to make a difference.

For those who know a lot of of their neighbours and have formed a good community how did you do it?

Tomorrow I kick-off a challenging and exciting project: my first course for legal aspects related to #OpenHardware (OSH )at University of Halle Wittenberg.

Together with my great colleague Martin Häuer, who has a lot of experience with OSH communities, we will go over these topics:

- Licenses for hardware, software and data
- Patent law and OSH
- Protection of semiconductors (RISC-V case study)
- Liability and OSH
- Interoperability regulation
- OSH and administrative law
- AI and generative OSH design

Please congratulate our newest PSF Fellow Members for Q3, 2025! Their continued contributions to the Python ecosystem are so very important to our community. #python
