Last time, in 2016, it crept up on everyone and took the world by surprise. Few expected he would win, everyone’s guard was down because it seemed inconceivable. You can excuse that to some extent - as long as you live, learn, and become stronger.

This time is much worse though.

There is no excuse and no mitigation. He’s a known quantity, he’s angrier and declining, yet there was nothing stealthy or lucky about it. Americans voted for him in greater numbers than last time.
