New Song! “Reconciled”

I am super excited to present the following song which I finished this week. You may notice that the melody is the same as "The Alternative," the instrumental (alternate-tuned guitar) song I posted last Monday. You are correct...It is! The lyrics arose out of The Ministry of Reconciliation Unit I am currently studying as part of the AMBS Journey Program…

The Geometry of Love

Reflections on Praying Ephesians 3:14-20 There is an invitation here that I cannot rush past. Not a command. Not a demand. An invitation. It comes quietly, almost like a teacher placing a hand upon my shoulder and turning my gaze—not inward in isolation, but outward and upward and downward all at once: “May you have the power to comprehend… what is the breadth and length and height and depth… and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge……

Visual Art This Week

(Saturdays are days when I post visual art that I've been working on over the past week). The first two artworks are from the creative part of engaging scripture as part of the Orienting With The Word Bible Study our church is doing through AMBS. Part of the study is to encourage us to engage with the Bible creatively. These are two collages I did, one this past Sunday as we studied John 12 and the second today, looking at Genesis 17, which we…

Becoming Air

Pride leapt like lightning, all jagged will and white desire, splitting heavennot to praise itbut to possess. It wrote its name in fireacross the ribs of the sky, boasted for one terrible instant, and in that instantbegan to fall. For what exalts itselfbecomes heavy. What curls inwardbecomes stone. What will not bowmust break.

Seeking Lost Dragonfly

A recent windstorm tore through and sent my little metal dragonflies scattering. There had been five of them hanging together, delicate and bright, catching the light and singing softly in the breeze. After the storm, I went looking. One by one, I found four. But the fifth remains missing. I have searched for it already, though not with success. It blends too well with the fallen leaves, hidden among the browns and rusts of the ground.

St. Patrick: A Witness to Peace in a Land of Warriors

St. Patrick is often remembered as the one who brought Christianity to Ireland, but his legacy is more than that. He was not a conqueror, nor a ruler imposing faith by force. Instead, Patrick embodied a gospel of peace, choosing reconciliation over revenge and witness over warfare. His life offers a compelling example of nonviolent faithfulness in a violent world. SONG – The Alternative 1.1

I have been experimenting with alternate tunings on my guitar. Currently, I have the guitar tuned to DADGBD. This song "The Alternative" is an instrumental piece (at least for now). I recorded a one take using Hi-Q app on my phone, dropped it into Audacity, and added some effects.

What Is Truth?

A Sermon on the Trial of Jesus Before Pilate (John 18:28–40) (Note: Sermons can be heard in audio format at Introduction It is early morning. Jerusalem is just beginning to stir. Building a New World

Peace, Creativity, and a Strong Foundation Today, on March 15, 1986, a building fell. The New World Hotel in Singapore, once a place of activity and movement, crumbled into dust and ruin. A nearby piano company became the center of rescue efforts, its quiet halls—once filled with the sounds of music—now echoing with the voices of those searching for survivors. The collapse was not an accident of nature but of human error.
