Scientific research and near-death reports suggest that as the body shuts down, hearing may be the last sense to fade before death. Studies of people revived after cardiac arrest and MRI scans of dying patients show that the brain can still respond to sounds even when other functions have stopped. This indicates the nervous system may process auditory information up to life’s final moments.

Many accused “witches” were actually midwives, herbalists, or healers whose knowledge of plants and remedies spanned generations. During the witch hunts, this wisdom was recast as devilry, and practitioners were silenced or destroyed. As a result, centuries of medical insight especially oral traditions about childbirth, herbs, and healing were wiped out, leaving gaps still felt today.
