It’s such a great illustration of what the NZ film industry and its relationship with local creators is like that they held a 'Big Screen Symposium' and invited Neil Gaiman to come and talk about developing and adapting IP, and in his well-received talk he name-checked just one (1) piece of local IP that he thought was a good example of something that could be adapted, my graphic novel THE INKBERG ENIGMA, and following that I have had zero (0) approached from producers to even look at it.
