I accidentally killed my kombucha scoby because I let it get down into the 40s (degrees F). I still have some that I’m drinking through. Here are the two I had this week.
Downtown Burlington today
I imported The Neverending Story to get it in 4k. The German version doesn’t have any English subtitles, which surprised me.
This morning, I went to the top of Mt Haleakala to wait for the sun to rise.
I glitched out EarthBound on the Analogue Pocket. I assume this is a bug that can happen on the real SNES too. I hit the win state right before the second character died. I assume the experience points didn’t get initialized, so this is whatever was in memory.
Lucy Dacus released her album No Burden ten years ago today.
According to Wikipedia, this game didn’t come on 5.25in disks. I think we got this version accidentally. It came out in 1992.
The change in memory pressure when I leave a 1 hour Teams call is nuts. A dozen gigs of RAM for what should be tiny lean buffers. How many seconds of video frames do you think are in flight, which could be trimmed out?
I got rid of all my 5.25in floppy disks, but my dad dropped off the old Commodore 64 last year. It had 12 boxes of floppy disks, so now I have to image them and maybe sell them. I’m not sure yet.
