@jonathanhogg I have this weird key on my keyboard that only capitalizes one letter and then when I don't push it it stops... Seems like that would solve the problem?

Edit: oh I actually have two of those weird buttons, one on each side of the keyboard

@cstross IMHO a more apt analogy would be those 6 person bicycles that are driven by drunk tourists on holiday
@keithnator3000 @thelinuxEXP gnome is the only DE that doesn't make me hate using it. It has a few design decisions that I don't understand (taking away the dock and the maximize/minimizing buttons) but it only takes a few seconds to install the extensions that modify that to my liking.
