The first part of the year blurred together for me. So much of my life and time was wrapped up in preparing for and then having my surgery. Rush Hospital took great care of me during my stay, the whole experience went very smoothly. After that I stayed for another five nights at Guest House Chicago to heal up a bit more before returning home to my family. It was several more weeks before getting cleared to go back to teaching but by the end of February I was back to work! #transgenderwoman
