I failed to soak this all last time, which allowed for contamination to enter my monotubs. The steam couldn't reach into all the nooks and crannies of the cracked corn. So this time, we soak. Rehydrates it all so it can be sterilized properly.

The manure substrate I buy and mix in is already sterile.
