Hi I'm Jayde. I am a science fiction writer of questionable talent and a book connoisseur with a habit of buying more books than I ever get around to reading.

Okay, I have finally written about my adventure in Sri Lanka. Read here to see what I got up to, and check out a couple of photos and drawings.

My Adventure in Sri Lanka

Okay, this is going to be off-topic, but I just had a great adventure, and I want to talk about it. I went to Sri Lanka for 13 days with my brother, on a guided tour, and saw some absolutely amazin…

#BookBingo update! I've read 20 flash fiction stories so far this year. Most were from Small Wonders Magazine. Their Feb issue was great. Also read stories from
Dream Theory Media and
Cryptic Frog Quarterly, and I found old stories by Isaac Asimov ("The Message" and "Hell-Fire") & Gene Wolfe (Against the Lafayette Escadrille) siting on my bookshelf.

Re-boosting this post I made two years ago because I've been playing so much #Pokopia and am having the time of my life being a #ditto and it made me remember this drawing I did ages ago.

I drew 3 of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of #SriLanka that I visited in my tiny #UNESCO sketchbook. They are:

1. Rangiri Dambulla Cave Temple
2. Ancient City of Polonnaruwa
3. Ancient City of Sigiriya

These sites are so unbelievably ancient, and it was awesome exploring them.

One of the best things about Sri Lanka was seeing so many wild elephants. One charged at our bus near Sigiriya. The best sighting though was seeing a family while on safari at Yala National Park.

Monthly Writing Prompts Challenge #3 – Vault

I’m back from my holiday in Sri Lanka (more on that later) and have decided to post the March story, Vault, even though it does still feel like a draft. Why? Well partly I just want to get it…

Keeping up with different social media posts while I was adventuring in #SriLanka turned out to be a bit hard, so apologies for forgetting to post. But I have done tons of Tiny sketches, and here are some faves

1. Kandy Cultural Performance
2. Pettah Market with View of Lotus Tower
3. Statues and Murals of Dambulla Cave Temple
4. Mountain Views from the Kandy - Ella Train. Drawn while on the train.

I've had a wonderful time and will share more soon.

Here is my delayed March Monthly Writing Challenge, "Vault". With how little time I actually had with this one, it's alright, but still feels like an early draft. I had fun playing with the formatting, but it probably needs more work to be made readable. Feedback welcome.

It has been ages since I shared tiny #travel sketches. Here's two favs:

1: Trấn Quốc Pagoda. My brother and I visited while exploring Hanoi.
2: My Dad at the Amsterdam Ice Bar. This was a surprise, and he cursed me out due to the cold. Later, he said it was one of his favourite things we did.

Tomorrow I'm flying out to Sri Lanka for a two week holiday. I've made a tiny sketchpad for the trip, so expect to see more art and travel photos over the next couple of weeks.

Unfortunately, this will delay the March Monthly Story. I apologize in advance.
