thinking of moving servers at some point
been here since 2018 and not much is really going on in my side
ps: every time i hear the word "metaverse" when referring to an MMO or some sort of 3D game with customizable assets
it drives me closer to taking my phone and tossing it into the highway
...and then doing the same with my computer
/j
but honestly i dunno, right now the only few places i'd rather be when it comes to putting stuff up online are just newgrounds, discord or whatever obscure social site's out there, with my friends to help keep me going and support me
but yeah, what do you think about all this?
i do feel bad for leaving everyone hanging over there who came for whatever wacky doodles i'd put up there
i haven't posted there myself since 2022 last year, because i really don't feel comfortable posting there right now
well, at least with the current internet climate anyways being all about the WONDERFUL, FANTASTIC WORLD OF AI ART WOW AMAZING COOL THIS IS THE FUTURE
that and also because i'm a college student finishing up, and i'm pretty busy dealing with stuff at home
its like i want to share my work, but i don't like the website, it's like an internal tug-of-war of wanting to put stuff up there, but also me going "BUT IT'S FACEBOOK"
plus the oversaturation of AI crap's also not making me want to post there either, like i really don't want to think about my stuff getting fed into someone's amalgamation machine to the point where i have to deck out the whole piece with more watermarks than usual (cont. on next post)
it was pretty okay for the first year being there
then over time i grew to dislike the app, like art theft is pretty rampant from what i've seen, the UI change they introduced to shove in tiktok-like features tripped me up, and the whole metaverse thing on facebook's side, and rumors of implementing NFTs into the platform, that was kind of the last straw for me, so at this point i'm kinda stuck in a "social media limbo" (cont. on next post)
i'll be real though, instagram is one of the reasons why i've been sort of hands-off with social media for a good while
at first i thought instagram was gonna be a decent alternative to being on twitter, even though i was fully aware that it was owned by facebook, or meta, whatever the hell they're tryina call themselves and (cont. on next post)
i've thought of returning to instagram quite a few times
but every time i opened the app, i always feel like zuckerberg's watching me directly from behind the screen
