The top criminal prosecutor in the Washington, DC, US Attorney’s Office, Denise Cheung, resigned Tuesday after declining a request from her Trump-appointed superiors to open a grand jury investigation that she viewed as premature, according to multiple people familiar with the matter.
The Trump administration has blocked The Associated Press from traveling with President Trump on Air Force One and also from covering an Oval Office event. It's part of an ongoing terminology dispute over the Gulf of Mexico. The administration criticized AP's “commitment to misinformation” in not adopting Trump's name change to “Gulf of America” in all of its copy. AP says the administration is flouting the First Amendment in punishing the news outlet for not saying what it wants. AP has advised the thousands of news outlets that use its service that it would continue to use Gulf of Mexico as its style but would note Trump's change of name as well.
The parent company of President Donald Trump’s social networking site Truth Social says it lost $400.9 million last year and its annual revenue declined 12% to $3.6 million. Trump Media and Technology Group reported its earnings late Friday, blaming the losses in part on a revenue-sharing agreement with an undisclosed advertising partner. After winning the presidential election in November, Trump in December transferred all of his shares — worth around $4 billion on paper — as a “bona fide gift” to the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust. Trump’s shares amounted to more than half of the company’s stock.
