For some reason I do stuff with language servers.

I'm doing weird Linux things at my job.

I've decided to stop the development around a year ago, because I was unable to dedicate enough resources to this. But I think at this moment I have enough time to dedicate

Small announcement: I intend to continue the development of the meson language server: https://github.com/JCWasmx86/mesonlsp

The repo is unarchived again, so feel free to open issues, bugs, features request.

As first measure I will clean up the 1.5 years of missed meson developments.

Thank you AI bros for making Hetzner far more expensive. 🤬🤬🤬

They finally did it. Microsoft has successfully over-engineered a text editor into a threat vector.

This CVE is an 8.8 severity RCE in Notepad of all things lmao.

Apparently, the "innovation" of adding markdown support came with the ability of launching unverified protocols that load and execute remote files.

We have reached a point where the simple act of opening a .md file in a native utility can compromise your system. Is nothing safe anymore? 😭

Knapp 500 Mio.

Hot take: Desktop Linux should embrace server technologies far more.

For example: Have one DB (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch hybrid, IDK) with some wrapping to allow for encapsulation where all data of all application is stored. Unified file storage (S3-like). Just make a backup of the DB and the storage, restore it and *all* applications would instantly work again.

Or OpenTelemetry for tracing would be huge.
