When sum X is announced, both parties (iuventa vs. "Italy") can either agree or refuse.

We were not first & won't be last whose ship was confiscated because we rescued people in distress at sea. Unlike others, we have the means & opportunities to defend ourselves. Tomorrow is the first hearing in our civil lawsuit! SOLIDARITY & RESISTANCE
We do not assume that anyone will voluntarily take on responsibility or pay to make iuventa fit again.
That is why we are preparing a civil lawsuit.
The first hearing is already scheduled for 31 October 2024.

All papers signed, time for appealing the decisions expired! After a seven-year odyssey, we now hold the final documents of our trial with a swirl of emotions. The delivery of the translation of the grounds for the verdict marks the final act of the longest, most expensive and most extensive criminal proceedings ever initiated against sea rescue organisations – and it ended with more than just an acquittal!

A BETTER WORLD IS POSSIBLE!
The war of Fortress Europe against people on the move is overwhelming.
Preventing by all means the rescue of people on the move escaping from EU-funded hells like Libya means more killings at sea and more illegal push and pullbacks.
The Italian authorities made sure not only to use us as an element of deterrance for 7 years or to seize our boat during that time. They also made sure that the ship could not rescue people ever again after the farcical trial was over.
But in the face of state violence, many of us are resisting and looking for ways to hold them accountable for the deaths and suffering. Once again, we will fight for respect for freedom of movement.
