This week: Elon Musk is a Mastodon agent
Notice how he's defining verification as pertaining to journalists, not public figures more generally.
That's nutty, first of all, bc one of the values that pre-Elmo Twitter had was its utility for journalists.
Way to kill more value, boss.
So I just had my first really delightful community interaction here. @heidilifeldman set up this great little Google Sheet populated by an online form where #lawyers #lawprofs #legalacademics et al. can say, "Hi. I'm part of the fediverse!" See https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfYDJ2Gw7lBuRufD9vW1KID6EezlGypCgKywO0kDDdDxKYeBA/viewform
But it didn't have a way to easily download a csv for import here. So we exchanged a few toots, and now there's a downloadable CSV with instructions. See https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nE8WxgwTFCuVeFA8ZfOW0qonJTSnI_d6EBSJ4E9JqtI/edit#gid=1322665293
Let me know if you have any issues/questions. :)
Stumbling on someone you loved on twitter here is such a burst of good energy.
Anyway, followed these folks today: @KevinMKruse, @popehat, @adamdavidson, @Emilynussbaum, @juddlegum, @drvolts, @anneapplebaum, @MattGertz
I know I'm missing more - will be searching!

Elmo's way of confessing he has only made the verification problem worse.
Far worse.
