This morning I read "Here Comes Your Man," a short story by @Indradas . Indra is a master of interiority and sustained tension. This story kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. Here Comes Your Man - Tasavvur

The phone is in her hands. She doesn’t want to switch it on for fear of this coffin-like space keeping her safe and trapped, she doesn’t want to see Aditya’s face in that pale blue glow, the blood marking out a crimson grin in a ghost mask, she doesn’t want to see that he’s not Aditya at all, but something else, that ancient god behind dead eyes, animated by the rutting of horrible men from across time.

I've not actually read that many Cormac McCarthy novels, but he's still among my favourite writers because of how much BLOOD MERIDIAN has meant to me. Time to explore more of the art he left behind. A great loss. RIP.

When I watch movies that my uncle Aveek loved, I can almost see the way he'd absorbed some of the mannerisms & flourishes of theatrical characters like Petra (who's a queer divorcee from a het marriage, like Aveek was). He knew life to be performance. Hated boring others.
