Day 1: Ash

I am not now, nor have ever in my life been, raised or practicing Catholic. But there are many Protestant denominations, more like individual congregations in many cases that choose to voluntarily do the marking of ashes on the forehead, as well. (It is not mandated by our religion. I am actually United Methodist, although I frequently keep company with the UU Church in Frederick.)

Day 29. William Castle
Classic thrills from a showman of scares.

(William Schloss Jr.) William Castle was a film director (1914-1977).
He directed horror and thriller B-movies in the 1950s and '60s, for which he devised distinctive promotional gimmicks.
He also produced Rosemary's Baby (1968).
Another film he directed was “Thirteen Ghosts” in 1960. (Remade 2001).
