IHI project VICT3R has reached an important milestone in its quest to dramatically reduce the numbers of animals used in medicine safety testing by replacing actual control groups with ‘Virtual Control Groups’ (VCGs).
The European Medicines Agency has launched a consultation on a qualification opinion on the use of VCGs, as proposed by VICT3R, in certain studies. The consultation will run until 12 May, and details can be found at https://link.europa.eu/XqwHjG.
