On @Heyscoops Episode 1156: Andrew Heaton he made a very good point that the millions of years of evolution that have taught us to see a human face and adjust our behaviour appropriately are missing on the anonymous and faceless social media.

There are plenty of aggressive arseholes on the internet, big tough guys with opinions, who are very different in person.

Related to the tipping conversation and how we don’t want that nonsense here, the first 25 minutes of @Heyscoops episode 1140, “Shakedown at the Waffle House”, is about dodgy tipping practices being gamed by staff to rip off the customers, and a list of either times they got scammed, and the dark UI patterns to make people accidentally tip more than they want to.

The whole thing is a disaster. No gratuities. No tips.
