@ShadowJonathan I like reddits rule that no more than 10% of your posts should be self-promotion. I don't think it's enforced well though. But it encourages the idea that its okay to share your work as long as you are engaged with the community.
@theicarian I'm not convinced its all that hard to compete with that. I think we choose not to. :(
@cmconseils but everyone else becomes invisible to you
@moertel I personally am skeptical that the platform deserves 10% + fees; and I'm worried about the enshitification curve. I would prefer to donate directly if possible.
@hellomiakoda I wonder what sort of time tracking precision they had back in 1111.
@Daojoan In a similar vein, I love what I do but it feels a bit soul crushing when its someone else's project and I'm just doing it for the money.
The fact that the word palindrome isn't a palindrome is a huge disappointment.

Many of you might have already seen the ultra cute "sea sheep" (Costasiella kuroshimae), but yesterday I learned 2 mind-blowing facts about the family of sea slugs they belong to:

1. They incorporate chloroplasts (the organelles in plant cells that do the actual photosynthesis) of plants they eat, into their own bodies to do photosynthesis directly for them (that is the green colour you see), in order to survive if food is scarce.

Imagine being able to live from light!
