A Canadian senator has introduced a bill that would place labels on alcohol to warn of links to cancer and remind consumers about low-risk drinking guidelines and how many standard drinks are contained in the package.

Alcohol use is linked to cancer — so why aren’t there warnings on bottles?

Ontario's #Greenbelt is over 800,000 ha in size and is the largest protected zone of near-urban nature and farmland on the 🌎. @fordnation plan to open it up to development sets a terrible precedent. None of our protected areas, ecological sites are safe if he gets away with this

Bad RSV season has become a crisis at Canada's children's hospitals

Edmonton emergency doctor Shazma Mithani came off a shift one night last week with a horrifying thought: If this continues, we are going to have kids die in the waiting room 💔💔 https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/kids-could-die-inside-canadas-struggling-childrens-hospitals

How a bad RSV season has turned into a crisis at Canada's children's hospitals

Canada's hospital system is fraying at the seams, and at risk of failing our kids — and those who care for them

We will sorely regret not doing EVERYTHING to protect these kids.

the Montreal’s Children’Hospital emergency room has just been described—by the head of emerg, I believe, on CBC Radio news—as “a war zone”.

The Children’s Hospital.
A war zone.

So I guess the guy who's supposedly running three companies also magically has the time to get directly involved in every Twitter dispute involving right wingers.

Which tells you exactly how much he really "runs" SpaceX or Tesla.

Good morning! A post just rolled across my fedi-timeline saying not to post about politics on Mastodon, so I'm here to remind you that:

1 "politics" refers to decision-making about how to live together in groups
2 choosing to not participate in political discussion is saying you support the status quo, and is a political stance
3 abstaining from politics because you feel safe from its impacts is a privilege and a choice to abandon your more vulnerable neighbours

In a study in Iowa, "..the participants reported having more energy to complete tasks in the morning, with fatigue & brain fog getting worse as the day progressed.. The decreased ability to multi-task made them feel less productive & efficient.."

Right.

Long COVID brain fog and fatigue negatively impact all facets of daily life

In a recent study published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, researchers explored the lived experiences of individuals with post-acute sequelae of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) (PASC) to understand the impact of the symptoms such as fatigue and brain fog on the various aspects of life including employment, daily activities, and interpersonal relationships.

The most effective way to prevent #LongCovid is to prevent #COVID19. My article in @theMJA InSight+. https://insightplus.mja.com.au/2022/46/want-to-prevent-long-covid-prevent-covid-19/
Want to prevent long COVID? Prevent COVID-19 - InSight+

We should be minimising the number of cases of COVID-19, as opposed to merely aiming to minimise severe acute disease and death, writes Benjamin Veness
