Do yourself a favor and buy DREDD on Apple TV. (For some reason it’s cheaper to buy than rent?)
This is the Karl Urban version, not the Stallone version. It’s absolutely fantastic.

Watching CHERNOBYL again and thinking god what this man is saying is sowing the seeds of a hundred thousand deaths
and then the industrial designer fanboy in me thinks wow that phone is incredible
How is it that -this- is what Apple TV shows me when I’m playing music?
1) give me visualizers, anything
2) let me turn the tv off! (If I go find the tv remote — something I shouldn’t have to touch — I can do that, but how about Apple TV acknowledging a world where I want music but no video signal?)
Sorry for venting. Getting this right feels like a lay-up, so I’m annoyed that Apple doesn’t seem to understand the music-listening scenario with Apple TV.
Branding change: Appleton Estate Signature rum (before and after)
I’d call this an upgrade. There’s nothing astonishing about the new version on the right, but it does feel more premium to me. The left’s label has a whiff of “romance paperback” that I was never into.
Nice work, Appleton Estate!
As much as I think Biden now needs to step down, I categorically reject the idea that Democrats “have made a mess” more than Republicans have, who placed all their chips on a traitor / rapist / felon.
It might be that Americans prefer a traitor / rapist / felon to an old guy. But I don’t blame Democrats for betting and hoping Americans are better than that.
Adding a fee rather than rolling it into the list price is a dark pattern. Starting Monday, in California, it’s illegal for all businesses. Except — thanks to this last-second carve-out — restaurants.
I’m open to arguments about whether it should be regulated or not, but it’s openly acknowledged by both sides pro and con as an attempt to obfuscate. It’s wrong when hotels do it; wrong when restaurants do it, too. https://apple.news/AXmMWcEkESL2N-H7KkRpZWg
I haven’t said this in at least a year, so I’ll say it again.
The two best shows on Apple TV+ are also the two shows I’ve heard literally no one besides me speak of:
“Watch The Sound with Mark Ronson” - a jaw-droppingly fascinating look into the production of modern pop music. (https://tv.apple.com/us/show/watch-the-sound-with-mark-ronson/umc.cmc.56ka6i8ccv7tsatj6nd1uo808)
“Calls” - chilling one-season horror series based off nothing but the audio of phone calls. Top-notch, and features more name talent than any other show on TV. (https://tv.apple.com/us/show/calls/umc.cmc.7hp8sparfsxo0l4f712f3mf2r)
