Many thanks to CHO's haiga editor Ron C. Moss for selecting this haiga for their current issue (#21.2).

Thanks also to Debbie Strange for suggesting I turn this image into a haiga.

You can probably tell it hadn't been long since I had seen The Brutalist!

It's an honour to have this haiku featured today. Thanks to Sue Courtney for running the food-inspired haiku workshop where I wrote this, and also for selecting it as haiku of the day.

This tanka was published in Kokako 42, and is in memory of an old friend.

This haiga was published in Kokako 42. It was based on a moment I shared with this wax-eye, where we were the only two, and my presence didn't bother him at all. I realised he wasn't chirping, wasn't letting on about the bounty he had discovered (there was a row of cherry trees with no other bird that I could see). I stood still, just 'listening' with my eyes and heart (shen), absorbing the beauty. Then I saw that he was listening to a different voice, but that the tree had its voice too

Big thanks to editor Kelly Moyer for publishing these two senryu in the March issue (#108) of Failed Haiku.

I was delighted to find this in my mailbox today!
Exquisite haiku by Debbie Strange rendered by the expert calligraphy of JS Graustein.
Debbie's new book, a full-length volume of haiku, called 'Random Blue Sparks', is out now, and once I have it my 'Strange' collection will be complete!
