It later formed the first chapter of his SPCK book of that title.

Discipleship is, as your title indicates, a state of being. Discipleship is about how we live; not just the decisions we make, not just the courses we attend, but a state of being. It's very telling that at the very beginning of St John's Gospel, a text to which unsurprisingly I'll be coming back later
