71 large US orgs filed for bankruptcy in July, the highest monthly total since the 2020 pandemic. Same trend seen in June and May. As of this year, there have been 446 large bankruptcies, the highest number in 15 years. This surpasses the total number of bankruptcies for 2021 and 2022, which were 405 and 373. Industrial and consumer discretionary companies have led the surge, with 70 and 61 filings, respectively. The pace of bankruptcies continues to accelerate.
