In The Body Snatcher (1945), the Val Lewton team take on Burke and Hare (after a fashion) is a remarkable historical horror directed by Robert Wise. It's as gorgeous as you’d expect, and Karloff is terrific as the cabman/body snatcher.

“It-was-just-a-dream” Girl was there. As was “There-is-no-way-that-was-just-a-dream” Guy. They were standing next to Ms. “This-is-weird-but-I-never-remember-my-dreams”.

“This way,” motioned the attendant.

The machine roared into action and I suddenly understood what the old man meant when he said that before night’s end, heads would roll.

As the machine spun, a slender blade appeared. You’d be excused for not having noticed it. They didn’t.

Punchline: And then I woke up.

Started up a new project. Details forthcoming. But the tl;dr is that something clicked in my brain on New Years Day and in the last 9 days, I've written, recorded, mixed, mastered, and created the artwork for a series of 4 new b/w singles. First of which might come out digitally as soon as the end of this month.
