Welcome to the first: Tiara Tuesday
Over my life, I've had more men than women friends, but since I've started working in infosec/security, I've met some of the most amazing women. So, I decided that celebrating these queens publicly was the best way to do it.

For the inaugural Tiara Tuesday, I'm choosing @triciakickssaas because she's basically the inspiration. Last Thursday, she sent me a picture of her in a tiara and I was like, "you know what, wearing a tiara every Tuesday would be awesome." Then, I realized Tiara Tuesday has great alliteration so needs to be a whole thing. So, for this first Tiara Tuesday, I'm going to celebrate one of my favorite women in #infosec -

She's an incredibly talented singer and parody lyricist.
She's kind - but also can be just as kvetchy as I am.
She's brilliant - and she's achieved so much.
She's also going to be at BlackHat manning her own booth talking about Akamai's research.
And she is one of the sparkliest, dog-loving, musical theatre nerds who totally accepts all my punniful memes.

At 11:59pm, the SAG-AFTRA contract talks ceased. They will start picketing tomorrow.

This is the first time both SAG-AFTRA and WGA have been on strike together since 1960.

As a #writer, I feel very connected to these outcomes. As a #freelancer, I have no union to protect me.

The WGA and SAG-AFTRA negotiations are about the financial value of creative talent.

They are about how society views what we’ve come to call “knowledge” work.

If your income is based on what you know and how you use those brain skills, you should care about the outcome of these negotiations.

We should *all* be as worried as SAG-AFTRA

We can't let corporate greed and discussions of "cost savings" or "time savings" take from us the thing that make us human - our thoughts and our physical selves. We truly are at an inflection point, and I worry about the path we'll take as a society.
