Yesterday evening I removed some cabling from my SDR set up and put a DIY 1:1 balun in where the active loop outside feeds into its Bias T. I have effectively eliminated all the flying birdies. Everything left is either from the Raspberry Pi or the SDR itself. Win.

EDIT: That "fast beacom" may be more than just a beacon. It has some features to it that are more than just the beeps, some tones appear in the spaces between the beeps. I don't see any good explanation on the web yet but I do think it is military.

I'm not 100% familiar with the frequency of "Sky King" Emergency Action Messages but it seems like they're going crazy today. The one I'm currently listening to, "invictus," sounds suspiciously like it's from an airborne source given the high frequency hum and people talking in the background. I heard at least one "shit."
